This afternoon Tania was able to take a couple of walking steps with the aid of her physical therapist. The transfers from the bed to the wheelchair and from the wheelchair to the therapy mat are improving with Tania doing more of the work. Tomorrow she is scheduled to get a different wheelchair that does not have a head support or a tilt mechanism.
This morning during occupational therapy Tania batted a balloon back to Casey while she was seated on the mat with a table in front of her to support her arms. However this evening, she was very sleepy during dinner and Tara had to shake her to get her to open her eyes to take a bite of food. The effort to accomplish the goals of the therapists completely wore her out.
We are encouraged with each little step of progress.
