Moon Boots & Cadilac Chair

We received a second CT scan that confirmed the brain shunt is in the correct position. Dr. Prall said from a neuological standpoint, she is ready to be released from ICU.

She is currently struggling with blood clots in her legs and arms, so she received her first treatment of blood thinner this afternoon. She reacted badly to the first round of blood thiner four weeks ago, so they are going to monitor her for the next 24-48 hours.

She is wearing moon boots on her feet to keep her feet in poisition. They look a little funny, so we took a picture.

When I arrived today, she was in the cadilac chair. The technical term is the cardiac chair, but our California nurse called it the cadilac chair. It is a fancy chair that can be laid down to transfer from the bed to the chair and then levered up into a sitting position and wheel it around. She was able to sit in the chair and look out the windows for a couple hours today.
