Nancy, the night shift nurse, advised me this morning that Tania rested quietly last night after the new temporary drain (a ventriculostomy or ventrix) allowed for the release of the pressure from her brain. This extra pressure is known as hydrocephalus and is a common complication from brain surgery. Her blood white cell count is good and her temperature is now longer elevated. We now await Dr. Prall's decision on when to have the shunt installed. Thanks for your support.
