Tania has been very sleepy the past 24 hours, but Dr. Prall was able to get her to respond to his commands this morning to raise each thumb. I have been advised that the shunt for brain fluid is now functioning. At noon today she had her eyes open for me for a few minutes while I told her about my Sunday morning and about the baseball game last night that our family (including granddaughter) attended.
Dr. Green advised me that Tania needs to have blood thinner to eliminate some clots in her legs, but the medicine can't be given to her until at least 48 hours after surgery. Consequently, tomorrow morning she will go back on blood thinner. The doctors want to observe her for a few more days before considering her release to Kindred Hospital to start the rehab process.
