This afternoon while Dr. Ryan was making her rounds, Tania followed commands to move her feet and squeeze Dr. Ryan's hand with each of her hands. Tania was then asked to give her a wave which consisted of the movement of the index finger like folks do when they meet while driving on dirt roads in the country.
Tara and I learned this afternoon that Blue Cross Insurance has determined that Tania has recovered sufficiently to be moved out of the long term acute care facility within three days. Consequently, we quickly contacted three rehab hospitals and three skilled nursing facilities to visit to see if Tania would qualify for treatment. Each facility will be sending a representative to evaluate Tania during the next couple of days before any decision will be finalized. We are praying that the progress during the past nine days will not be undone by moving her too quickly.
