First Phone Conversation

This weekend when no therapy sessions were on the calendar, Tania is scheduled to spend two hours each day in her wheelchair. Today that time slot was from 10:00 a.m. until noon. During this time she was mostly awake to listen to me read several cards and she also was able to speak occasionally in conversation with me. She also had visitors (that she recognized) for about 20 minutes. The four of us had a nice visit.

Ryan was disappointed that he could not make it out of the mountains on the bad roads as he had planned, so I decided to see how she would communicate with a cell phone. Since she could only hold the phone for a short time, I held it to her ear and let her listen. Ryan said that he could hear and understand her whispered responses to his questions. WOW...she has come a long way in a week at Craig Hospital! Our prayers are being answered!
