Late this afternoon, Dr Locy, explained the rancho recovery scale to Tara and me. Patients with brain injuries are evaluated on a six point scale with level one being a coma and level six being fully cognitive. When Tania arrived at Select Hospital last Monday she was determined to be at low level two on the scale due to the extreme trauma from multiple brain surgeries. During the past week she has improved to a low level three with the assistance of medication and excellent care.
To be considered eligible for a rehab hospital Tania needs to progress to a level five and be able to participate in therapy for at least three hours per day. Most (but not all) patients have to transition through an agitation phase (level four) before achieving level five. Although she slept most of the morning, she did have a good physical therapy session this afternoon. She is also continuing to breath without any supplemental oxygen. Please pray with us that she continues to progress to the point to be eligible for admittance into a rehab hospital. Thanks.

I am still praying and I think things are sounding a little better. I check everyday. Blessings to all.
